WOW...from out of the blue I have just received two packages from the Soaring Eagles Blue Star Moms. It could not have come at a better time. I have been away from the FOB running missions non stop. I am dead tired with a headache and my feet are a ball of fire. I ask myself why am I here and not home with my wife and two girls. I finally get to my room and there are the packages that the Blue Star Mothers sent. It really made my day, or night in this case, and helped reaffirm why I am here. It is to secure the rights and freedoms of our great nation. It is to help keep my family and friends and organizations like yours safe from those that wish us ill. I just want to say thank you for all the great things you sent. I will be sure to share all the goodies with those in my unit and on the FOB. When I get home and come over to Janesville to visit my mother and sister, sometime in August, I will be sure to stop by and say thank you in person. Thanks again for the pick me up. Take care and Happy Holidays.

Blue Star Moms,

I just wanted to pass on a note of thanks for what you have been doing for the sons and daughters of Susanville who are deployed overseas with the US military.
As a 1986 graduate of LHS and a member of the USAF since that time, I fondly search the internet for all things Susanville as my one link with my favorite small town. I ran across your website and was very proud that such a fantastic organization is alive and well in Susanville. As a squadron commander and someone who has been deployed a number of times I know how important it is to receive a package from home, and seeing the excitement and the smiles on the faces of my Airmen when they receive these packages is priceless.
Thank you again for all you are doing for Susanville's sons and daughters.

A proud Susanville Son,

DARRIN B. DRONOFF, Major, USAF

Hi,
I just wanted to say thank you so much for the care packages.  It is so nice to receive mail that isn't something I ordered for myself.  Everything was great.  I hope no one minds that I shared a little bit with the other people in my office.  There are a couple people that don't receive much mail so it brightened up their day a little.
Hope all is well with you.  Please tell the ladies thank you on behalf of my office and I.

Hello, My name is SSG Thornsberry
I recieved a care package from you and I just wanted to let you know how much I and others here appreciated the things you sent.  Because of you and the people at the USO you have inspired me to donate time when I retire and continue to help with the Military.  Thank you.  Jodi

Soaring Eagle Blue Star Moms~

You ROCK!

I just received your care package & I have to say, you know how to make an Airman feel humbled, honored & extremely proud of her hometown! Everything you sent was awesome & absolutely perfect!

-The (Lassen County Times) newspapers: When I feel so far away from home, you brought a bit of home to me. Very cool!

-(Susanville) Starbucks coffee: What a luxury!! This will definitely be savored! Please pass the word to Starbucks that the autographed bags are greatly appreciated... The messages moved me!

-Avon (Soaring Eagle Fundraiser): Awesome! Awesome! Awesome!! Everyday it's sweltering, dusty & windy over here (it was 128 degrees the other day). At the end of the day I feel like I have layer upon layer of sweat & sand! Nice to have these Avon items as they will make me feel pampered & "human" again!

-(Girl Scout) Cookies: YUMMMMM! I shared w/ my comrades & these were inhaled! Many thanks to those young gals in (Brownie) Troop #422 & 213!!

-(Susanville CHP Office) Cards: Definitely helps to preoccupy the mind when in the desert!

-(Rotary) Socks: I'm probably giving you too much information, but in the desert our feet sweat a lot!! LOL! Nice to have some decent socks!

Ladies, you outdid yourselves!

I was having a "blue" day, but you sure turned it around & brightened it!

THANK YOU & GOD BLESS!!!

Community Thank You's

Christine,

Thank you so much for your respectful presentation at Jeremiah's service. It was wonderful to have the families for our military represented. The window flags and banner were so nice. The McCleery family wanted to keep the banner as a momento of the day. Good luck on your future activities to support our troops.

God bless you and the Blue Star Moms.
